All Leavers, All Levels: Starting Your Career In Care

1 July 2025

We would like to Introduce Elizabeth, one of our Home Care Workers as part of our ‘All Leavers, All Levels’ campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to show the different ways that our Care Workers have joined us and started their career in care. Elizabeth joined us with no prior work experience or qualifications that related to the Health & Social Care sector. When interviewed by our recruiter however, they were incredibly impressed with her kind and compassionate attitude and knew she would be a valued member of our team. We wanted to find out more about why Elizabeth chose a career in care, here is what we found out:

How long have you been part of Dale Care’s Team?

I joined the Dale Care team as a Domiciliary Care Worker 6 months ago.

What is your favourite aspect of your role?

My favourite part of my job is connecting with our service users and meeting new people. It also feels rewarding being able to make a positive impact on our service users lives.

Why did you choose a career in care?

I wanted a meaningful and rewarding career where I could support others. Before starting I provided care for my grandmother which inspired me to follow the path of a career in care.

What previous Education did you have?

Before starting my career in care I had completed my GCSEs and had studied Public Services at college.

What new skills have you learnt?

Since joining Dale Care I have developed strong communication skills, learned how to support individuals with various needs, and gained confidence in providing personal care.

When recruiting for our Care Workers we want to find the people who are truly passionate about care and want to make a real difference within their local community and give back to others. We are incredibly proud to have such kind people like Elizabeth on our team. Whether you have experience working in the care sector or not, we encourage all to apply as we provide fully paid training to all our new starters, meaning no experience is necessary!
