Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the care service, ensuring the delivery of high end, quality care to service users which meets legislative requirements and the Care Quality Commission standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Scheme Manager is responsible for working alongside Senior Managers to ensure the smooth running and development of the business. Some duties of the role include:

  • To actively participate in the growth and development of the business
  • To develop and manage relationships with Service Users, Local Authorities, Families and Clients· Ensure the successful operation of quality control processes, safeguarding processes, meet and exceed CQC requirements and legislation and all associated health and safety requirements.
  • Work in partnership with the Care Quality Commission and Local Authority.
  • Effectively support, lead and motivate a remote workforce providing supervision, all associated competencies for medication and effective staff observation, annual appraisal and guidance and advice as and when required in line with Dale cares care worker pathway.
  • To understand recruitment needs to ensure that there are sufficient resources at the branch/extra care site which allows the branch/development to grow.
  • Ensure that care calls are scheduled effectively to meet the needs of the Service Users.
  • To ensure that a compliant, high quality and sustainable service is delivered from the extra care site.
  • To develop and grow a pipeline of talent in the extra care site through training and development of the team.
  • To ensure that there is effective communication at all levels internally and externally.
  • To produce and interpret Management information so that the branch is continuously improving and exceeding targets set. Ensure any associated action plans are implemented in a timely manner and work with the Registered Manager to ensure the extra care site is continuously working towards achieving continuous improvement.
  • To ensure that any issues which arise are dealt with effectively and efficiently within the framework provided.
  • To lead the branch with integrity, honesty and create an open working environment and culture and model this to all care staff to ensure a healthy working environment is created for all staff.
  • To work in a calm, professional and exemplary manner and for all managers and scheme managers to model this to their teams.

To ensure service users are engaged in meaningful activities and community links and connections are created within the service.

  • To maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you by following company Health and Safety and other related policies and procedures at all times.
  • To assess, report and record any hazards and risks which may affect the health and safety of yourself and those around you and ensuring all service users have all associated risk assessments and risk mitigation applied in all legislative requirements.

To lead by example by promoting and encouraging staff to follow company policies and procedures
